What you will own
- Design and own services in the core payments and ledger path
- Drive schema and API decisions end to end, not just implementation
- Bring the team's p99 latency down on the highest-traffic endpoints
- Mentor two mid-level engineers through code review and design docs
What they are looking for
- 5+ years building production backend systems, 2+ in Go
- Real experience with financial or transactional correctness — idempotency, reconciliation, double-entry
- Comfortable with event-driven architecture (Kafka, NATS or similar)
- You can explain a past design decision you got wrong and what you changed
